Journey Plushie

So this blog has been kinda dead lately, but I'm bringing it back! Lately, the crafting bug has bitten me and I'm really enjoying making things again. My favorite game this year has been Journey. I loved everything about it- the look, the experience, the intimacy, the human element etc etc. Go play it! I wanted to pay tribute to the game by making the Journey traveler. I just winged him, relatively easy just time-consuming, the hood was the toughest part. He ended up about 16" tall. I might make a smaller version, maybe even write up a pattern :) Glad to be back!

Invader Zim- Gir!

I made him for my friend Jason, check out his blog- awesome work, one of the most motivated people I know!
This pic wasn't taken by me!

Airplane!

I made this airplane for Ford's birthday, he loves them! Pretty much worked off of the pattern of this book by Anna Paula Rimpoli.

ZAPHOD

My first plushie of 2011... and what a good one to start with! I made this for Sarena, who's cat tragically passed away a few months ago at 6 yrs old. Right away, I knew I had to make her a plushie of him. Zaphod is one of the cats responsible for me owning a cat now. He was "magical."

Sarena was sooo happy!

A photo I took of Zaphod when I first met him.

I'm glad he turned out on my first try :) Sometimes that's really difficult when trying out a new pattern.

And lastly, the sketch I did.

R is for Roma, P is for Poppy, S is for Stevie

My friend asked me to make some bunnies for his friends in England who recently had babies. The orange is my favorite!

Steampunk-shroom

I made this for my friend Koz because I was his Secret Santa this year. He loves Steampunk and his cat Myu. I was going to make a giant Myu doll but wasn't sure how it would turn out, so I opted to do what I do best which are mushrooms and add a little Myu via magnet :)

I love giving handmade things as gifts! They get the best reactions ever :)

2nd Annual Small Paperfox Swap

These are 10 ornaments I made for the 2nd Annual Small Paperfox swap. The deal is you send in 10 and get back 10 random handmade ornaments- I love it! I should have made one for myself though, forgot to... :p
