Dottie & Penny the Mushroom Sisters

One day Dottie's little sister, Penny, told her that she would love to know what it's like to be able to fly like a little birdie. Dottie thought it must be really wonderful. So on Penny's 4th birthday, Dottie brought out her kite and told Penny that since she was so small, she would be able to fly just like a little birdie. Dottie tied little Penny to the Kite and carefully let her rise up in the air. Penny was shrieking out of excitement and shouted "it's beautiful." Once Penny got cold from the wind, Dottie brought her back down. Penny gave Dottie a humongous hug and told her she had given her the best birthday present ever. And that Dottie was the best sister ever!

Buttercup2, originally uploaded by DesignsbyL.

such a great forest for her to live in! Thanks Leeanna for posting some pics :D Btw, you should check out Leeanna's Flickr page, she makes great plushies too.

Aaden the Mushroom

Aaden is a free-spirit. He loves to hang out by the beach and loves all sorts of sports. His favorite is windsurfing and he loves to fly kites at the beach. He's also got a big heart, whenever he sees trash on the beach- he makes sure to pick it up and throw it away. He also makes sure to not step on sandfleas or sandcrabs or really anything that's living by the beach. Aaden is ready to come and play with your shovel and pail :)

I'm so lucky!!!

Look at all this amazing stuff Dawn sent me. I almost cried I was so happy. It was a total surprise, because I had sent her a silhouette and she offered to make me a plush, so I asked for a tree and look at all the lovelies she added. It was so thoughtful of her, because 1. owls are my favorite plush to collect- I now own 9 (I think) 2. because she gave me fabric that was even labeled "bright" and "muted" and it was so thoughtful because when she asked me what colors I liked I said anything really colorful or I really like muted colors too and 3. because she's my flickr friend and I hope we'll continue our flickr friendship

if you haven't seen Dawn's work, you must go check it out on her blog or her etsy shop

she's an amazing artist and lovely person!

1. Thank you Dawn!!!, 2. Dot & me, 3. Tallulah & me, 4. Tallulah , 5. Dot, 6. cool robot card, 7. muted fabric :D, 8. bright fabric, 9. the box

Maisie the Mushroom

Maisie is a very concerned about the environment. Every Sunday, she goes to the farmers market and buys fresh food. She always buys strawberries, they are like candy to her. She's the oldest out of her mushroom family and has a great sense of responsibility. But she's also very playful. She loves to jump rope! Her name means "child of light" and it's so fitting ;-)

Maisie is about 13 inches tall and 9 inches wide (at the widest part of her head). She comes with a crocheted surprise friend. What could it be??

update: Maise found a new home 6/23- hooray! :D

I feel thankful :)

So remember how I made Squarey and Lilly for Elliot and Amy... well they mailed me something in return and I'm so happy and love my new artwork :) Here are two racecars made by Elliot and he also did a drawing of himself and Squarey- isn't it great?! It totally made my day. And then they included this cute Japanese solar powered bobble head too- I've been wanting one of them for ages!!! So sweet of them :)

and then I wanted to say a big "Thank you" to Boogie Babee!! I won this owl from her off of her blog and I love it. It fits great with the rest of my owls.

and lastly... i bought these two and loved the way they look together, such a cute contrast. Oscar is from talented Nichol at Pillow Monsters and Mara is from Simplijessi aren't they just great, some of my faves for sure. So yeah, all these things cheer me up and will continue doing so for a long time to come :)

Lisa the Mushroom

UPDATE: Lisa found a new home and I'm so excited. She's my first sale that's not to a family member/friend/co-worker. Thank you Chelsea!!!

Lisa's favorite season is summer, because she loves to sell lemonade when it's really hot outside. She's a very happy mushroom and her life's motto truly is "if life gives you lemons, make lemonade." A true optimist. With some of her savings, she plans on buying herself a pet snail :)

This mushroom comes with a little surprise- it's crocheted and has something do to with Lisa's personality. What could it be?

and another little cutie I made from the amigurumi book

Maude the Mushroom

I made this new one over the weekend and I must say it's my new favorite. I wonder if I'll feel like this whenever I make a new one. This one is finally going to my shop- hurrah.

So Maude doesn't come with a pet friend, and it's because she's friends with all the stars in the sky. She can spot all of the constellations. Her favorite used to be the Big Dipper but now that she's older she really likes Princess Andromeda. She loves to be awake at night, because she likes to blend in and try to pretend to be a star herself. But I think she doesn't have to blend in at all, she's already a star in my eyes. :)

Squarey & Elliot, Lilly & Amy

both my plush arrived at their new home. looks like elliot and amy like their new friends :) thanks to clay for sending me the pictures- they made my day!
